สสารและพลังงานในพระพุทธศาสนา เล่ม ๒ (๓๑) โดย ท่านอาจารย์บุญมี เมธางกูร ตอนที่ผ่านมา ธรรมดาของจิตนั้น ย่อมจะมีอำนาจเป็นสมุฏฐานให้เกิดรูปได้ ดังได้กล่าวมาแล้ว แต่ทวิปัญจวิญญาณทั้ง ๑๐ นี้ยกเว้นเพราะมีกำลังอ่อน จึงไม่ก่อให้เกิดจิตตชรูปอย่างใดขึ้นมาเลย อรูปาวจรวิบากจิต ๔ จิตทั้ง ๔ ประเภทนี้เป็นผลของอรูปาวจรกุศลซึ่งเจริญรูปวิราคภาวนา เพราะการปฏิบัติสมาธิภาวนาถึงขั้นอรูปฌาน ไม่มีความปรารถนาในรูป เพราะมองเห็นว่ารูปนั้นเป็นทุกข์ ด้วยอำนาจแห่งการเจริญรูปวิราคภาวนา จึงได้บังเกิดผลเป็นอรูปาวจรวิบาก เมื่อสิ้นชีวิตลงแล้วก็จะบังเกิดขึ้นในภพภูมิที่ไม่มีรูป เรียกว่า อรูปพรหมภูมิ และเรียกผู้เกิดชนิดนี้ว่า อรูปพรหมบุคคล ดังนั้น อรูปวิบากจิตทั้ง ๔ นี้ จึงไม่มีสมุฏฐานให้เกิดรูปได้
